The neck of this spatula is a beautiful rubix twist finished with a simple wire brush. The head of the spatula is made of stainless steel with an integrated spike. The handle is made from an exotic hard wood called Bocote. It comes from Mexico and Central/South America. when sanded down, the rich browns to black stripes in the tight and wavy grain stand out beautifully when finished with Axe Wax.

Please use this as it is intended to ensure longevity and prevent damage.
To prevent undesired rust on the neck, wash and dry thoroughly. Apply a thin layer of a food safe oil or wax such as mineral oil, butcherblock oil, or a food safe wax. Wipe away excess. The product I use is called Axe Wax. I do not use vegetable oil or peanut oil for health and safety concerns.
